Reseda Luteola also known as Weld, Dyer's

Rocket, or Dyers Weed, is a plant native to Eurasia that can also be found as a weed in North America. It has been used since the 1st century BC to produce beautiful yellows and is considered one of the most colorfast (does not fade much) natural yellow dyes available.

Weld can also be over-dyed with other colorants like iron, madder, or indigo to create gray-greens, oranges, or greens respectively. Historically, indigo was over-dyed with weld to create Lincoln green

We use weld because it is quite easy to work with and produces great colors. One of the best perks of weld is that it is quite easy to grow and readily available
